It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Schaefer in Springfield, Missouri, born in Willow Springs, Missouri, who passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Billy Mueller and Anna Mae Mueller (Ganson); and her nephews, John and Edward Mueller. She is survived by: her husband Scott Schaefer; her daughter Shelley Schaefer; her son-in-law Justin Lucas; her grandchildren, Jackson and Valerie Lucas; and her siblings, Robert Mueller, Anita Covington, Etta Faye Mueller and Gwenna Mueller. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many friends.
