He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence P. Lierz and Rose Ann Lierz (Knipper); and his brother Donald A. Lierz. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Chester; his children, Jeff (Kim), Joe (Diane), Jesse (Tracy) and Laura; and his great grandchildren, Brother Clarence C. Lierz (Mary Ann) and Sister Rose Ann Brashears (Steve).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army; Holy Trinity Catholic Church; or Compassus Hospice.
