He was predeceased by: his brother George Varga; and his sister-in-law Loren Varga. He is survived by: his father Francis Varga MD of Lake Placid, NY; his children, Alexander and Karissa Varga of Springfield, MO; his mother Anita Varga; his siblings, Paul Varga of Philadelphia, PA, Victoria Varga Brouder (Daniel) of Cumberland, ME and Thomas Varga of Jay, NY; and his nephews, Ethan and James Brouder.
Following his tenure at Dartmouth Dr. Varga became certified in hematopathology and received The Hitchcock Foundation Scholar's award.
