Merlin Jay Carpenter Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on September 3, 2025, at the age of 90, Merlin Jay Carpenter of Springfield, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Carpenter and Mamie Carpenter; his siblings, Harold Carpenter and Arcele Andersen; his former wife Norma Koinzan Carpenter; his children, Michael Ray Carpenter and Joyce Carpenter Ward; and his granddaughters, Erica Angelo and Rachael Angelo.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Carpenter; his sister Dorothy Russell; his children, Patty Carpenter Hudson (Jerry) of Alabama, David Carpenter of Bois d'Arc' and Juanita Carpenter Angelo (David) of New York; and his children-in-law, Kim Carpenter of Springfield and Roy Ward of Colorado. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
