Though Michael may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Michael touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvis Bell and Irene Bell (Williams); his sister Rebecca (Becky); and his brother-in-law Butch Chailand. He is survived by: his children, Michael Bell (Jennifer) of Monett, Missouri and Amy Scheihing (Matt); and his grandchildren, David Bell (Joelle) of Kansas City, Missouri, Joe Scheihing (Karis) of Clearwater, Florida and Natalie Scheihing (Jordan Henderson) of St. Peters, Missouri. He is also survived by Several cousins, two nephews, and many close friends.
A memorial service was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804). A burial was held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home (2001 W Walnut Lawn St, Springfield, MO 65807).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 W. Republic Road, Springfield, Missouri 68507, or to the Delta Children's Home, P.O. Box 573, Kennett, Missouri 63857.
