He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Preston Ames and Golda Mattie Ogle Ames; and his brothers, Larry Ronald Ames and Gerald LeRoy Ames. He is survived by: his children, Lori Lynn and Andrew James Ames; his wife Donna Mae Stapp; his son Andy Ames; and his sisters, Joyce Newby (Tom) and Angela Hollenberg (Gary).

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Crossway Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
