He was predeceased by: his parents, Norris Meier and Leona Meier; and his brother Norris "Sonny" Meier. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Smith Meier; his children, Cindy Meier, Chris Meier (Jessica) and Gina Hubbs (Curtis); his sister Mary Bynum; and his sister-in-law Janet Meier. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
