He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pears and Melissa Annie Pears; his former wife Mary K. Pears; and his siblings, Bruce, Dean, Howard Pears, Wilma Anderson (Eldon), Nellie Tesburen (Gerald) and Barbara Simpkins (Dick).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Katherine Farmer of Strick's Restaurant; his children, William Pears (Deborah) of Nixa, Missouri, Robert Pears Jr. of Springfield, Missouri, James Pears (Ken Haymes) of Springfield, Missouri, Daniel Pears (Alanna) of Jefferson City, Missouri and Nancy Pears of Springfield, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Jake Medford (Kelly), Jacob Pears and Kayleigh Pears; and his great grandchild Addison Medford. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Yost Funeral Home (601 Indiana St, Lawrence, KS 66044). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:00 PM.
