She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Barney and Gladys Barney of Canaan; and her spouse Jerry Flokstra. She is survived by: her children, Gerard John III (Gary) of Springfield, Gregg Lester (Sandy Flokstra) of Perkin, OK, Bonnie Ruth (Beushausen) of Springfield and Brittany Renee (Sue Flokstra) of Waterloo, Iowa.; her siblings, Reginald Barney of Canaan, NH and Miriam Bennett of Lynchburg, Virginia; her children, Gary (Gerard III) and Glenna Flokstra; her grandchildren, GJ, Christopher, Ben, Bianca, Laura, Jessica, Thorsson, Abigail, Elizabeth, Nathan and Tabatha; and her great grandchildren, Keturah, Justin, Caitrin, Khloe, Cedric, Emiline, Allison, Haven, Winston, Iris, Justice, Adrian and Phyllis.

Even in her old age, she amazed everyone with her tech and computer skills, keeping up with Facebook, email, and Zoom calls during the pandemic when her Sunday school class continued to meet weekly.
