He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend John H. Burgess and Bernice Andrews Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Ruth Vassar Burgess; his children, John Bradley Burgess, Stanley Matthew Burgess, Scott Vassar Burgess, Heidi Amanda Levinson and Reverend Justin David Burgess; and his grandchildren, Sophia, Michael, John Matthew, Mary Kathryn, Charlotte, Clara, Amelia, Sarah (Sadie), Samuel and Vanessa.
