With sadness, we share the passing of Sue Palen (Springfield, Missouri). Sue, born on January 29, 1937, passed away on May 31, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Walls Owings and Ruth Marie Peavler Owings; her husband Dan; and her children, Susan Elizabeth Palen and Robert "Dan" Palen.
She is survived by: her siblings, Betty, Nadine, Wanda, Bud and Guy; her sons, Brett Palen (Shelly) and Bradley Palen (Cindy); her daughter-in-law Lisa Palmer; her grandchildren, Alec, Beau, Clay, Jessica, Peyton, Barrett, Breanna, Josiah, Megan and Hadasa; and her great grandchildren, Juniper, Rory and Rosie.
The family invites contributions to dementia research, to programs that support children's education and the arts, or to simply carry forward Sue's spirit of quiet encouragement in your own life.
