We announce the death of Willa Posey of Springfield, Missouri, born in Elkland, Missouri, who passed away on October 4, 2026, at the age of 84. Willa will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie M. Highfill and Lucy M. Highfill; and her siblings, Loren, Calvin, Rex, Dorothy, Marybelle, Ruth, Charlesetta, Neldena and Retha Mae.
She is survived by: her husband James L. Posey; her children, Vicky Steele (David) of Springfield and Richard Posey (Angie) of Potosi, MO; and her grandchildren, Sara Faigle (Jason) of Little Elm, Brian Steele (Aimee) of Blue Springs, MO, Jim Posey (Julie) of Norwood, MO and Ericka Arner (Andrew) of Ozark, MO. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home (1947 E Seminole St, Springfield, MO 65804). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
