He was predeceased by: his wife Eva Ruth Wilson Brown; his parents, Myrtle Elizabeth Browning and Anciel Brown; his sister Carol Elizabeth Brown; and his sons, Layne Edmond Brown and Eugene Leon Brown.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Ruth Johnson (Howard) and Elizabeth Jane Hicks (Tim). He is also survived by many grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren.
