Virdon of Springfield, Missouri, born in Hazel Park, Michigan, who passed away on November 23, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Virdon and Bertha Marley Virdon; and his sister Corrine Andrews. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Shemwell Virdon; his daughters, Deborah Lutes (Gary), Linda Holmes (Bill) and Lisa Brown (Kevin); his grandchildren, Shannon Merced, Mandie O'Hara (Chris), Andrew Miller, Brett Holmes (Jodie), Christina Elsenraat (Jeff), Michelle Viles (Nick) and Scotty Brown (Paige); his great grandchildren, Roberto Merced, Lauren O'Hara, Courtnie Miller, Chloe Merced, Austin O'Hara, Ashton Isbell, Camryn Miller, Paige Elsenraat, Ella Viles, Savannah Holmes, William Elsenraat, Harper Holmes and Ryan Elsenraat; his brothers-in-law, Ron Shemwell and Jim Andrews; and his nieces and nephews, Cathy Andrews, Cindy Shemwell Lee (Monte), Lindsey Andrews Argo (David), David Andrews, William "Bill" Andrews and Steven Shemwell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions should be made to Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT.org), PKD Foundation (pkdcure.org), The Council of Churches of the Ozarks (ccozarks.org), or a Baseball/Softball Scholarship at Missouri State University, Drury University, Southeast Missouri State University, or Baptist Bible College.
