He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Rusk and S. P. Dalton. He is survived by: his wife Sue Ann; his son Samuel Poage Dalton (Carol Cook) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Sam Jr., Katie (John Detamore), Loring (Joey Belisle) and William; his son Dr. Thomas Dalton (Kimberly Holiday) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Conner (Sarah Williams), Mackenzie Webber (Jacob Webber) and Miller (Tess Tarses); his great grandchildren, Molly Dollus (Matt Dollus) of Lexington, Jack, William Dalton and Bennie Belisle; Abby and Andrew. He is also survived by Papa leaves these nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the King's Way United Methodist Church (2401 S Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, MO 65804).
