He was predeceased by: his parents, A. S. Grier (Bill) and Viola Grier; his parents-in-law, Dr. Kenneth and Lenore Knabb; and his stepson Nathaniel Hopkins.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Debbie, Richard (Katie) and James (Amber); his stepchildren, Marisa Dewey (Dennis), Abby Sylvester (Adam) and David Hopkins; his grandchildren, Zeke, Lydia and Phoebe Grier; his stepchildren, David Grier, Soren Dewey (Natalee), Mala, Essence, Mili, Bella, Kalia, Tallula, Kiana, Makana, Izaia, Akira, Heavenly Sylvester, Ryan Dewey and Haily Pojar (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Madi, Jackson and Lucas Pojar; his grandchild Noble Dewey; his sister Judy Thompson; and his nieces, Beth and Pam Nickle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, the Land of Opportunity Scholarship (for emergency student support) at the University of Arkansas or Central Christian Church.
