He was predeceased by : his parents, William Leroy and Merle Marie Shineman (Snowden); his siblings, Bill, Donnie Shineman and Shirley Morgan; his granddaughter Jessica Sutherland; and his son-in-law Rick Meyerkorth.

He is survived by : his wife Alta Thomas Zirfas; his children, Stephen Shineman (Jo Lynn) of Rock Port, MO, Patricia Meyerkorth of Rock Port, MO and Julie Sutherland (John); and his siblings, Truby Shineman (Kathy) of Seattle, MO, Suzanne Fitzgerald of Kansas City, MO, Kathy Howell (David) of Maryville, MO and Tonya Oswald of Fairfax, MO. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; one step grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
