He was predeceased by : his parents, Porter Abney and Letha Parks Abney; his son Arnold Lee Abney; his siblings, Herman Abney (Hilda), Leman Abney (Martha), Arthur Abney, Vernice Engelhardt (Junies), Bertha Thornton (Leonard), Velma Byrd (Paul), Shirley Herr (Bob), Verda Hawthorne (Thurman) and Norma Jean Skaggs (Radis); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Brown, Junior Brown and Verla Brown.

He is survived by : his wife Betty Abney; his daughters, Karen Troutt (Jon) of Steelville, MO and Crystal Bouse (Rodney) of Steelville, MO; his grandchildren, Jonny Troutt (Tiffany), Jason Troutt (Clarissa), Justin Troutt (Krystal), Brandon Bouse (McKayla), Damon Bouse, Makayla Fetters (Ryan) and Caitlin Bouse; and his great grandchildren, Lilly, Megan Troutt, Karlee, Calvin, Kymber Troutt, Emileigh Troutt, Oaklynn Fetters and Baby Fetters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Arnold's name to Power of Hope Equestrian Center, 3 Farm House Lane, Steelville, MO 65565.
