She was predeceased by : her parents, Warfel "Jake" Halbert and Dora May Causey Halbert; her daughter Barbara Reel; her siblings, Albert Halbert (Erma), Esther Donal (Tom) and Cleo King (Doug Jr.); and her grandson Jess Presser.

She is survived by : her husband Lawrence P. Richards; her children, Larry Richards (Rhonda) of Cedar Bluff, AL, Ronnie Richards of Springfield, MO, Donna Limberg (Ronald) of Owensville, MO and Sandra Presser of Albertville, AL; her son-in-law Dwight Reel of Springfield, MO; her siblings, Gean Halbert of Steelville, MO and Lois Anderson (Jack) of Bolivar, MO; her granddaughter Melissa Stroupe; her great great grandchild Hannah Starbeck; and her nephew Terry Halbert. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in Irene's name to Westover Cemetery in care of Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.
