He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ernest and Flossie Patterson (Shumate); and his brothers, Walter Patterson, Marvin Patterson, Albert Patterson, Donald Patterson and Melvin Patterson.
He is survived by: his significant other Barbara Patterson (Hendricks); his children, Susan Hayden (Mike) of Harrisburg and Mark Patterson (Latrisha) of Woodbridge, Virginia.; his grandchildren, Emily, Matthew Hayden, Kelsey and Jared Patterson; his sister Linda Ireland (Jim); his siblings-in-law, Max Hendricks and Vickie (Ed McNellis); and his stepsons, Brent Drake (Angela) of Stockton Missouri and Brad Drake of Stockton Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Stockton United Methodist Church (PO Box 329, Stockton MO 65785) or the Veterans Clinic at the University of Missouri School of Law (120 Hulston Hall, Columbia MO 65211).
