He is survived by: his parents, Donald Schaefer (Sam Thomas) of Sullivan and Michelle Schaefer (Kramer) of Sullivan, MO; his brother Nick Schaefer of Albia, IA; his fiancée Kimberly Barrett of Sullivan; and his aunts and uncles, Jane Suzanne Reed (George) of Sullivan, MO, Sandy Franey (Joe) of Glendale, MO and Pam Kramer (Ron) of Lake. He is also survived by numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Max's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
