Bonita Hawkins Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bonita Hawkins of Sumner, Missouri, who passed away on April 8, 2025, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Bonita may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Bonita touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her father Rev. Merrell Alton Hawkins; and her grandparents, Nelson "Doc" and Ruby Howerton. She is survived by: her mother Helen Ruth Putnam (Howerton) of Laclede; her brothers, Rodney Hawkins of Sumner and Joseph Hawkins (Christine) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; her half-sisters, Eve Hollon of Browning and Shelly Whitney of Springfield; and her nieces and nephews, Austin Richardson and Ashley Hawkins. She is also survived by several other aunts, uncles.
