He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Wheeler and Katherine Wheeler (Sharkey); his wife Patricia Smith; his great grandchild Cael; his brother-in-law Bill Smith of Sunrise Beach, MO; his nieces, Diane Oelke (Mark) of Topeka, Donna Wells (Shad) of Meriden and Becky Velasquez (Robert) of Overland Park, KS.; his grandchildren, Dustin Oelke (Clara), Katie Hall (Devin Lasley), Austin Wells (Cassie), Josh Wells (Jonae), Kaylee Wells and Jacob Miller (Kayla); and his great grandchildren, Parker, Matthew, Caiden, Lincoln, Frederick, Brynlee, Isabella, Aiden, Adalyne and Everett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Topeka High School Music program.
