It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Eileen Smith of Sweet Springs, Missouri, who passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Janet Eileen departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Janet Eileen. Though Janet Eileen may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cedric "Red" Meador and Emma Margaret Hall Meador; and her sister Diane Williams. She is survived by: her husband Victor Smith Jr. of Sweet Springs, MO; her children, Emily Crystal Buckner (Jack) of Belton, MO, Victor Grant Smith of Santa Fe, NM and Adam Leslie Smith (Melissa) of Kansas City, MO; and her grandchildren, Victoria "Tori" Lynn, Shawn Michael and James Emery Buckner of Belton, MO.. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Campbell-Lewis Chapel (204 Ruby St, Sweet Springs, MO 65351).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Sweet Springs Presbyterian Church.
