He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry L. Atchison and Mary Atchison (Sloan); his brothers, Charles S. Atchison and Will A. Atchison; his son-in-law John Gifford; his siblings-in-law, Kenny Wombles, Mark Cleveland and Penny Spicer Atchison (Will); his nephew Dennis Atchison; his brother-in-law Dave Lightle; his great-nephew Nic Jerde; Ava Perrigan.

He is survived by: his wife Mary of Lowry City, Missouri; his children, Carla Gifford of Lowry City, Missouri and Jim D. Atchison (Kelley) of Lowry City, Missouri; his grandsons, Michael W. Gifford (Kelsey) and Nathan A. Gifford (Trina); his siblings, Gerald Atchison (Dixie) and Mary Jane Lightle; and his sisters-in-law, Pat Cleveland (Mark) and Oleta Atchison (Charles). He is also survived by 4 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters.
