He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Carpenter and Ida Carpenter (Starks); his brothers, Elbert A. "Al" Carpenter and Laurence A. "Skip" Carpenter; and his son-in-law Thomas Anthony.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Miller; his children, Connie Anthony of Dallas, Texas and Craig Carpenter (Kristin) of Alpharetta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Carly Anthony Miller (Daniel), Andie Anthony and Cade Carpenter; his great grandchild Thomas Miller; and his sister Doreen Netter (David).
