James Merlin Finger Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Merlin Finger of Troy, Missouri, who passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rawleigh Finger and Tessie Finger (Bettis); his sister Jeanette Stoeckel; his sister-in-law Vicky Finger; and his sibling's children, Eric Lindhorst (Garrett Briggs) and Nicole Briggs.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Gillespie (Jack) of Troy and Mary Christine Surls of Troy; his siblings, Terry Finger (Carol) of Kissimmee, Pat Finger (Linda) of St. Louis, Missouri, Juanita Briggs (Gary) of Troy and Sondra Mischke (Greg) of Steelville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Bridgett Kunza (Tony), Jessica Gillespie (Bridget), Haley Emerson (Kyle), David Surls (Shelby) and Andrew Surls (Caitlyn); and his great grandchildren, Amelyia, Charlotte, Dawson, Joey (Hannah), Isabel (Aidan), Mylee, Lucy, John, Livvy Marie, Peter, Colton, Ryder and Shabree.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Old Alexandria United Methodist Church (87 Old Alexandria Rd, Troy, MO 63379). A graveside service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Asbury Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to American Legion Post 94 or Firelight Bible Camp in care of Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 222, Troy, Missouri 63379.
