He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Morton Farel and Bessie Leota Dean Farel; his wife Shirley Farel; his sons, Steven Farel (Trina) and Norman Farel Jr.; his grandsons, Cory Joe Farel, Shane Farel and Luke Wollin; and his siblings, Charles "Cook" Farel and Bonnie Hodgson.
He is survived by: his brother Bob Tessman; his daughters, Sharon Thomas (Fred) and Pamela Johnson (Tom); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Farel of Belvidere; his grandchildren, Christopher Thomas (Katie), Sara Wollin (Dan Hodgson), Matthew Wollin, Talie Johnson, Nick Brown (Kristine) of Steven, K. C., Ashley Farel and Barb Hinde; his great grandchildren, Xandra Farel, Braden Ettner, Emma, Hunter, Regan, Max Wollin, Alayna Farel, Jasmin Farel, Janell, Teaghan, Zach, Karlene Brown, Mark Mason (Nicole) and Crystal Mason; and his sisters, Linda Hendrickson of Texas and Ruby Cheek-Robinson of Udall, MO.. He is also survived by Many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
