He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Lakebrink; his daughter Ann Schroeder; his parents, William Lakebrink and Josephine Lakebrink; his siblings, Marie Wunderlich (Charlie), Sylvester Lakebrink (Viola), Robert Lakebrink (Ruby), Albert Lakebrink (Margaret) and Irene Holt (Ray); his parents-in-law, John and Ella; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Fraser (Shirley), Donald Fraser (Diane) and Linda Daugherty (Neil).
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Schroeder (Joe) of Villa Ridge, Kathy Lakebrink (Dale Kane) of Union and Andrew Lakebrink (Linda) of Union; his son-in-law Norman Schroeder of Union; his grandchildren, Benjamin Schroeder (Megan) of Raleigh, NC, Kate Schroeder of Union, Mollie Woehlke (Craig) of Eureka, Abigail Nolting (Matt) of Union, Lucas Schroeder (Ashley) of University City, Krystin Lakebrink of St. Louis, Briana Lakebrink of St. Louis, William Lakebrink of Union and Athena Thurmond (Bob Mayer) of Marthasville; his great grandchildren, Maddie Schroeder (Andrew Boyer), Kassidy Nolting, Beckett Woehlke, Elly Nolting, Finnley Woehlke, Katherine Schroeder and Evelyn Schroeder; his sister Pat Bucher; and his close friend Ruth Strubberg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, former colleagues, and dear friends.
A rosary will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Oltmann Funeral Home - Union (103 N Church St, Union, MO 63084). Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (100 N Washington Ave, Union, MO 63084). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery (704 Clearview Dr, Union, MO 63084).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception School or Hope Ranch of Missouri.
