He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Branson and Lillian Branson Golden (Newsom); his stepfather Guy Golden; his sons, James H. Branson Jr. and Kevin M. Branson; his grandsons, Keith W. Branson and Nicholas J. Branson; his brother David C. Branson; and his sister-in-law Mary Branson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah M. Branson of Leslie and Denise L. Thompson (Steve) of Union, Missouri; his daughter-in-law Kathy Branson (Kevin) of St. Peters, Missouri; his grandchildren, Gary Branson (Nikki) of Cabot, Arkansas, Shaun Branson (Hillary) of Folley, Alabama, Tim (Holly) of Farmington, Missouri, Jessica Rylko-Meitner (Chris) of Battlefield, Missouri, Casey Branson (Kim) of Pacific, Missouri, Anna Thompson of Union, Missouri and Carrie Thompson of Summerville, SC; his former wife Bettie Branson of Union, Missouri; his cousin Terry Redburn (Jan); and his close friends, Alberta and Peter Chulick of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
