He was predeceased by: his parents, Klon and Billie; his brother Timothy Kohler; his stepson Mike Mitchell; and his nieces, Justine Young and Jessica Sawicki.

He is survived by: his wife Cathy Kohler; his children, Chasity Kohler of Union, Candice West of Union and Nick Milham of St. Clair; his stepdaughters, Melissa McKinney, Jessica Stillman (Dennis) and Jennifer Spaunhorst (Daniel) of Gerald; his grandchildren, Adriana, James and Leah West; his brother Gary Kohler (Michelle) of Union; his sister-in-law Kadi Kohler of Union; and his nephews, Kaleb Kohler and Kyle Kohler. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kohler family for funeral expenses (checks payable to Cathy Kohler).
