He was predeceased by: his parent Dr. Garth Edmund Fort (Chloe Frierson Fort); his wife Mary Catherine Cooper Fort; and his brother Christopher Lawrence Fort. He is survived by: his sisters, Julia Warfield Fort Lowe and Chloe Fort Lenderman; his children, Garth, Daniel, Robert and Catherine Fort Coughlin; and his grandchildren, Haden, Whit, William, Wynn, Kathleen, Julia, Anna, Chloe, Margot and Mary Catherine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, the Great Rivers Habitat Alliance, or to the charity of one's choice.
