He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Edward and Helen Rose Askey (Harris); his former wife Bonny McDannold; his siblings, Bob Askey, Mike Askey and Sandy Hassien; and his great grandchild Eden Nahrgang.
He is survived by: his wife Lorene Syler; his children, David Askey (Leigh Ann) of Hannibal, MO and Kelly Askey Lodes (George) of Ballwin, MO; his stepdaughters, Deborah Salois (Joe) of Vandalia, MO and Lisa McCallister (Lynn) of Little Rock, AR; his sister-in-law Lynne Richmond (James) of Moberly, MO; and his grandchildren, James Nahrgang (Juliette), Paul Nahrgang (Sydney), Parker Nahrgang (Ellen), Alec Askey (Ali), Chase Askey, Hannah Carpenter (Dylan), Caty Bier, Sarah Rader (Dane), George Lodes, III (Camie Vitale), Jeff Salois (Gina), Mathew Salois, Charlie T. West and Joshua Daniel West. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews other loved family and friends.
