He was predeceased by: his brother Ty Borcherding; and his grandparents, Kenneth and Bernice Borcherding. He is survived by: his father Dan Borcherding of Coulter; his wife Vicki Yaw; his children, Kirsten Borcherding, Emma Borcherding, Elizabeth Borcherding and Daniel Borcherding of Versailles, Missouri; his mother Kandi "Pratt" Borcherding (Jeff Voy) of Hampton; his sister Kylie Voy (Jack Nauman) of Cedar Rapids; and his grandparents, Sheldon and Virginia Pratt of Hampton. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew and cousins.
