He was predeceased by: his parents, Genevieve Cowan and Everett Cowan; his sister Ann; and his wife Glenda Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Eric (Kristin) of Aurora Mo and Rachel Phillips (David) of Springfield Mo; his granddaughter Blair Cowan; and his siblings, Sue Cowan of Walnut Grove and Richard "Dick" Coombs (Kristen) of Springfield Mo. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.
