He is survived by: his wife Nancy J. Payson; his children, David Gardner (Lisa) of Elberta, Alabama and Kimberly Boutwell (Rex) of Yukon, Oklahoma; his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Gardner of Blue Springs, Missouri and Esther Fern Minnis of Independence; and his granddaughters, Madelyn Gardner and Sofia Gardner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Williams Funeral Chapel (1400 S Maguire St, Warrensburg, MO 64093). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
