He was predeceased by: his parents, George Andrew and Katherine Carstensen (Harms); his wife Mary Lou Carlyle; and his siblings, Wendel Carstensen and Alice Mines.
He is survived by: his daughter Renee Hawkins (Jeff); his sister Mildred Tietjen; his grandchildren, Todd and Shara; and his great grandchild Kyree. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Williams Funeral Chapel (1400 S Maguire St, Warrensburg, MO 64093). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (20109 MO-13 BUS, Higginsville, MO 64037).
