Ruth Tate Obituary
Passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Holden Manor Care Center. Ruth was born August 29, 1928 in Auxvasse, Missouri the son of Henry Bartlett Hoover and Ina Essie (Womack) Hoover. She was raised near Mexico, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Eugene P. Tate on January 10, 1945 in Hannibal, Missouri. In the early 1950s, the couple moved to Warrensburg.
Ruth was a seamstress by trade. She was employed at Unifem and later, Unitog, both in Warrensburg until retiring. Ruth and Eugene's passion, for many years, was square dancing. Survivors include four children: Ina (David) Miller of Strafford, MO; Evelyn "Nitti" Roderick of Warrensburg; Henry (Connie) Tate of Chilhowee and Tina Marie (Tami) MacCain of Chattanooga, TN; sister: Peggy Gordon; two brothers: Jacob Hoover and Harold Hoover; twenty three grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; two sons: David Eugene Tate and Donald Ray Tate; granddaughter: Angie Tate; grandson: Charlie Roderick; brother: Edward Hoover and sister: Betty Hoover. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28th at First Baptist Church in Warrensburg with Michael Miller, grandson officiating.
Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Johnson County Cancer Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
