He was predeceased by : his parents, Hobart Nicholson and Irma Nicholson (O'Dougherty); his daughter Wendy Aring; and his grandson Chase Aring. He is survived by : his wife Mary Nicholson; his daughter Stephanie Whaley; and his siblings, Elizabeth Roush of Louisville, KY and Kirk Nicholson (Karen) of Ravenwood, MO. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

“Words cannot express my sympathies for Mary, Stephanie and family. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one and the roller coaster of emotions that everyone has and will experience. I have so many fond memories of Stephen and will always remember the good times we had together. He was a great Husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, and great grandpa. He will be missed by all.”
