He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Peterson and Edna Peterson; and his sister Shelva Miller. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Peterson; his children, Gary Peterson II (Kelly) of Troy, MO, Kimberly Wolfrum of O' Fallon, MO, Wendy Hoff of O' Fallon, MO, Rebecca Undertajlo of Wentzville, MO and Jennifer Smith (Sean) of Troy, MO; and his siblings, Robert Peterson (Nova) of Canton, OH, David Peterson and Sandy Warner (Chuck) of Canton, OH. He is also survived by grandchildren; twelve, great grandchildren.
The military honors was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
