She was predeceased by: her husband Joe George; her parents, Luther Stewart and Sue Stewart; and her son Joe Tod Gerfers. She is survived by: her children, Susan Hilsman (Joe), Katherine Merkel (Dan) and Ronnie George (Edith); her grandchildren, Keith Hilsman, Robyn Clancy (Dennis), Jason Gerfers (Ashley), Amanda Burazin and Austin Merkel (Amanda); and her brothers, James Stewart (Liz) and Lonnie Stewart (Addie). She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Goliad, Texas or South Texas Children's Home also in Goliad, TX.
