He is survived by: his father Francis Tempfel; his wife Karen Sue Cochran; his sibling's children, Tina Tempfel Stanley of Bedford, Virginia, Saundra Cochran Smith of Clinton, Linnet Harlan of Pacific Grove, California, Laurel Harlan, Heather Harlan of Columbia and Tim Harlan of Columbia; and his brother-in-law Brent H. Cochran.
