He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Coons and Delores Coons; his parents-in-law, Carl and Ruby; his siblings, Delores Ann, Dorothy, Ruth, James and Dennis; and his brother-in-law David Hillermann.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Coons; his children, Jenny Keesey of Vancouver, WA and William Coons Jr. (Moses Ruiz) of Palm Springs, CA; his grandchildren, Kate Williams of Vancouver, WA and Joseph Williams of Kansas City, MO; his great grandchildren, Ethan Morris, Gabriella Williams, Liara Williams, James Williams and Lucas Williams; his siblings, Jack Coons, George Coons (Lana) and Jeannie Canaan; and his sisters-in-law, Darlene Coons, Elizabeth Coons, Joan Taylor (Dennis) and Laurie Hillermann. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
