He was predeceased by: his parents, John Piontek and Elizabeth; his wife Lucille Piontek of John's Gildehaus Church; his mother-in-law Philomena; his siblings, Francis "Jim" Piontek (Marie "Rickie"), Lawrence Piontek (Sally), Mary Piontek, Rita Skornia (Joseph), Robert Piontek, Laverna Piontek, John Piontek (Joan) and Leonard Piontek (Gerry); and his in-laws, Joe Patke (Helen), Al Patke (Ethel), Clarence Patke (Joan), Francis Loepker (Ervin), Rich Eckelkamp and Joe Voss.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Hagedorn (Steve) of Union, Darrell Piontek (Shari) of Washington, Allan Piontek (Tricia) of Washington and Dale Piontek (Missy) of Washington; and his grandchildren, Jimmy Maniaci (Molly), Melissa Caruso (Mike), Shannon Gray (Tim), Aaron Piontek (Abby), Nicole Brueggenjohann (Steve), Holly Wunderlich (Dale), Sydney Jedding (Daniel), Sam Piontek (Blair), Jack Piontek (Breanna), Maddie Leslie (Trent) and Drew Piontek. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; other relatives, and many friends.

Memorial donations can be made to the Pregnancy Assistance Center or St. Francis Borgia High School.
