He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Helsee and Blanche; his stepfather Walter Frisbie; his wife Betty Helsee; his son-in-law Bob Strubberg Jr.; his brothers, Wayne Bell (Bernice), Rodney Bell and Wendell Bell; his parents-in-law, Alvin and Jenny Kappelmann; and his brothers, Don Kappelmann, Tom Kappelmann and Shirley Ham.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Holtgrieve (Ken) of Kerrville, TX, Tim Marsch (Missie) of Stony Hill, Bryan Helsee (Dee) of Tulsa, OK and Jennifer Hogan (Dan) of Washington; his brother Virgil Frisbie (Jari) of Springfield, MO; his sister-in-law Delores Bell of Pacific; his grandchildren, Matt Holtgrieve (Emily) of Texas, Kristina Patton (Clayton) of Texas, Amber Knight (Rick) of Connecticut, Noah Helsee of Oklahoma, Hannah Helsee of Oklahoma, Martha of Oklahoma, Joey Acker of Oklahoma, Olivia and Adrianna Strubberg of Washington; his great grandchildren, Zac, AJ, Kase, Luke Patton and Chloe Knight; his grandchildren, Abby, Maddy and Ella Hogan; and his siblings-in-law, Charlie Kappelmann (Betty), June Kappelmann and Gail Kappelmann. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (214 W 5th St, Washington, MO 63090). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
