He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard William Peters and Alice Rosemary Johnson Peters; his wife Barbara Jeanne Hamaker; his daughter Sally; his son-in-law John Drennan Jr.; his sister Marlene Cross; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Kitt and C. Otho Reasoner Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Thater (Jeff Thater) and Bruce Peters; his grandchildren, Jared Thater, Alicia Thater (Sean Henry) and Shianne Peters (Jack Crain); his sister Donna Rohrer; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Reasoner and Richard Kitt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
