He is survived by : his wife Debra Peterson of Wellington, MO; his children, David Shannon Peterson (Lori) of Shawnee, KS, Shawn Peterson (Teresa) of Garfield, KS, Randy Jones (Michelle) of Wellington, MO, Edward Peterson (Amanda) of Centerview, MO and Mandy Kolkmeyer (Eric) of Wellington, MO; his grandchildren, Whitney Blackmore, Kaitlyn Simsheuser, William Peterson, Nathan Jones, Candice Peterson, Shawn Peterson II, Brylee Peterson, Taylor Couch, Jaden Williams, Brooklyn Couch, Kadence Evans, Beau Peterson, Jaelynn Peterson, Aleah Kolkmeyer, Jacob Couch and Lucas Kolkmeyer; his great grandchildren, Ella, Beckham Jones, Makayla and Trey Simsheuser; and his siblings, Daniel Peterson (Linda) of Atoka, OK, Beverly Patton (Vester) of Winfield, KS, John Peterson (Joyce) of Wellington, MO and Lesa Duensing (Shawn) of Warrensburg, MO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home (1720 South St, Lexington, MO 64067). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
