James C. Trainer Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James C. Trainer of Wellington, Missouri, who passed away on February 28, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace "Buddy" Parker and Eva Marie Ray (Fletcher); his children, Steven Cowick and Dale Alan Trainer; his siblings, Carol Harlin, Janet Parker, Randy and Bobby; and his great grandchild Jolie Belle McFarland.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Trainer (Hobbs) of Wellington, MO; his children, Marla Rukavina (John) of Wellington, MO, Ron Cowick of Lexington, MO, Rhonda Richie (Roger) of Hamilton, MO and Randy Trainer (Danielle Winship-Fiancé) of Wellington, MO; and his grandchildren, Matt, Jonathan, Kendra, Steven Wayne, Susanna, Allen, Donna, Chester, Holly, Kristin, Bridgette and Jenna. He is also survived by twenty four great grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home (306 S 2nd St, Odessa, MO 64076). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Odessa Cemetery (201 Main St, Odessa, MO 64076).
James will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and country but also for his love of the outdoors.
