He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Baker and Mary Louise Baker (Talbot); and his brother George "Shorty" Baker. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Baker (Cary); his children, Curt Baker (Mariam) of Wentzville, MO, Jim Baker (Teresa Branch) of Defiance, MO and Susan Schmittling-Pelkey (Kevin) of Lake St; his sister Marsha Carmichael (Glenn Darensbourg) of Luling, LA; and his grandchildren, Amanda Lemon (Jordan), Becca Baker (Emily), Laura Swenson (Levi), Jaden Ellinger, Jackson Roberts, Nicolas Roberts, Michael Roberts, Jacob Schmittling (Maria), Cary Schmittling (Nick Jacquin) and Bailey Pelkey. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
