He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Montgomery and Eva Montgomery; his in-laws, William and Marjorie Thomas; and his sister Martha Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife JoBeth Montgomery; his children, Garel Montgomery (Leslie) and Shanna Head (Jay); his grandchildren, Dalton Head, Lauren Head, Jed Montgomery, Evin Montgomery and Jon Montgomery; his in-laws, Bob Anderson, Michael and Bonnie Thomas; his sibling's children, Rodney, Brooke Anderson, Seth, Janette Atkinson, Bill, Autumn Thomas and Christina Thomas; and his close friends, Bill Pierce, Gary Simpson, Bob Wright and Bob Riley.
The lying in state was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home (211 W Main St, West Plains, MO 65775). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Thayer Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rover Fire Department and/or Thomasville Fire Department, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
